4 days Tour from Fes to Merzouga description:
- Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Middle Atlas – Merzouga Desert.
Fes to Merzouga 4-day desert tour departure: At the scheduled time, our English-speaking driver will come to greet us and depart for our Morocco desert tour from Fes. We’ll drive towards the Ifrane city which is known as“The Switzerland of Morocco”, and then to the Cedar forest of Azrou. Here, we will stop for a while to see the Barbarian Apes and feed them.
Our Day tour continues to cross the Middle Atlas mountains including a stop at one of the mountainous villages to have our lunch break. Once everyone is ready, we are going to continue driving to the desert of Morocco by crossing the Palm grove of Ziz with its palm and olive trees. Upon our arrival in the desert, we will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea in our Riad/Hotel while checking in. Dinner and overnight…
- Day 2: 4×4 Merzouga desert Excursion “Camel trekking excursion – Night in Luxury Desert camp.
Today is one of the special days of our Fes Merzouga tour where we can explore the desert during a 4×4 excursion…
After breakfast, we will prepare for our excursion in Merzouga. Start with a drive along the Desert dunes, a fabulous extension of a sandy area in Merzouga, where we can enjoy the panoramic views of 250-meter altitude dunes. We then take the Off-road of ‘Rally Dakar’ to Tissardmin Oasis where we can visit the fossil quarries that are still present in the area. Our private excursion continues to visit a nomad family with their friendly hospitality before we drive to the black people’s village of Khamlia.
At Khamlia village, we are going to visit one of the Gnawa soul music schools to enjoy dance rhythm with a glass of mint tea. Afterward, continue to a local restaurant to have a special meal in the area for lunch.
After everyone is ready again, we drive to our accommodation in Merzouga to get ready for our fabulous Camel trekking excursion which will be guided by our Camelman in the heart of the dunes. Our Camelman will guide our camel caravan to see the sunset and enjoy the late afternoon time before returning by camels to our luxury Desert Camp for an overnight. The camp is fully prepared with a Private hot shower and private toilet in each tent and a restaurant... Dinner will be served in the Camp restaurant.
- Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Rissani guided visit – Erfoud guided visit – Merzouga.
According to your choice, we can wake up earlier in the morning to start our 3rd Desert tour day with an amazing sunrise view before we have breakfast…
After breakfast in the camp restaurant, we’ll go back to our accommodation to get ready for a drive to Rissani City “The ancient economic city of Draa Tafilalet. Upon our arrival, we’ll go on a guided visit to discover its fabulous Spices Market and bazaars. After some time, our journey tour continues towards Erfoud “the fossil and date capital of Morocco”.
Here, we are going to visit one of its marbles and Fossils workshops. Afterward, we continue our guided visit to one of its date markets and walk in its traditional and Spices market. After some time, we’ll drive back to our accommodation in the Merzouga desert for the rest of the day. Dinner and night in the accommodation rooms.
- Day 4: Merzouga desert to Fes.
After breakfast, we going to start our 4th day tour with a drive along the black Desert fields of Acacia trees on the way back to Fes. Here, we will join the green Palm Grove of Ziz with a stop at one of the Valley’s panoramic spots and enjoy the morning view of this valley from the top with a glass of coffee according to your choice.
We then depart again and head towards the Middle Atlas mountains of Morocco, passing by the Apple Capital city of Midelt and taking our lunch stop. After lunch, we continue driving willing to approach Fes passing by Ifrane city. End of our 4 days desert tour at Fes accommodation.
