5 days Morocco Tangier to Marrakech Desert tour description:
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes.
After breakfast, we will depart for our 5 days Tangier to Marrakech desert trip by driving from Tangier towards the blue city of Chefchaouen passing by the Rif mountains views. Upon arrival, we will go on a guided visit to discover the blue and white alleys of Chefchaouen with its fabulous stairs. After our visit, we will have lunch and depart to Fes. Upon arrival, we will check in for our rooms. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Desert dunes of Merzouga.
Once we have breakfast, we’ll start our 2nd-day tour by driving from Fes towards the city of Ifrane and Azrou Cedar forest. Here, we can take a short stop to see the Barbarian Apes in this area. Afterward, we will travel towards the Middle Mountains with great views of its villages. Crossing the Middle Atlas mountains to approach the Valley of Ziz. According to the time, we can take a short stop at the panoramic spot of the Valley to enjoy the amazing views of its palm trees. After a while, we’ll continue to Erfoud “The Fossil Capital”. Here, we can visit one of the fossil workshops to discover the process of how they make tables from marble and fossils. After a while, we will continue to the desert dunes of Merzouga. Upon our arrival, we will check in for our rooms in our Moroccan traditional Riad.
Day 3: Morocco Desert excursion on 4×4.
Our Morocco Desert excursion on 4×4 starts after breakfast. We will drive along the Erg Chebbi, a great extension of a sandy desert, where we can find the big dunes of Morocco at 250 meters altitude. We take the road of ‘Rally Dakar’ to Tissardmin oasis where we can find fossil quarries still present in the area. Our off-road trip continues to see a nomad settlement and learn their secrets and manners before we drive to the black people’s village of Khamlia. At this village, we will visit one of their Gnawa music school and enjoy a dance time with mint tea. Afterward, we will continue to a Berber restaurant to have Berber Pizza for lunch. Once we have our lunch, we will dive into the hotel/riad to get ready for our Camel trekking experience to the top of the dunes where we will see the amazing sunset. We then return with camels to our luxury desert camp overnight under the tents. The camp is fully prepared with a private toilet and shower.
Day 4: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Dades Gorge
According to your choice, we can wake up earlier in the morning to see an amazing sunrise overnight in the dunes. After breakfast, we will travel from the desert dunes of Merzouga to the city of Erfoud where we will visit one of the fossils workshops. Our desert trip continues to Todra Gorge, a Canyons of 300 M altitude. After some time, we will drive to Dades Valley and Dades Gorge where we will check in for our rooms in Moroccan Riad. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Dades Gorge – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou Kasbah – High Atlas mountain – Marrakech.
Today, we’ll travel to Marrakech by driving towards the Rose Valley and Ouarzazate city “The Hollywood of Africa”. Here, we will take a short stop to take some photos of Taourirt Kasbah. Afterward, we will continue to Ait Benhaddou Kasbah “one of the UNESCO heritage located in the foothills on the southern slopes”. Here, our driver or guide will accompany us on a walking visit to this breathtaking Kasbah, walking in its alleys and stairs and rocks. After a while, we will return for lunch in one of the local restaurants.
Once we have lunch, we’ll continue our trip to Marrakech by crossing the High Atlas mountains of Tizi N Tichka willing to approach Marrakech. As soon as we arrive in Marrakech, we will accompany you to your accommodation where our 5 days Tangier to Marrakech desert trip comes to an end.
