Merzouga desert tour 3-Day itinerary
1st Day: Marrakech - High Atlas - Ait Benhaddou - Rose Valley - Dades Valley.
Desert Itinerary from Marrakech
Morning: At 8:00 am, we begin your 3-day Desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga. On the way toward the High Atlas Mountains. This impressive mountain chain connects Marrakech to southeastern Morocco and offers stunning panoramic views of its charming villages. Moreover, the itinerary includes optional stops, such as visiting a workshop that produces handmade Argan oil, to immerse yourself in local traditions. Next, we drive to explore the iconic Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. A UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled on the southern slopes of the Atlas Mountains. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour to navigate the Kasbah’s fascinating alleys, stairs, and rocky pathways. At lunchtime, take a relaxing break in a local restaurant before we continue the journey. The itinerary then leads us to the picturesque Valley of Skoura and the fragrant Valley of the Rose. Depending on the time, you may pause for a coffee break in the Rose Capital. Finally, the day concludes as you arrive at Dades Valley, where you will check in to a panoramic accommodation. Here, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, preparing for the next adventure in the Morocco Desert.
2nd Day: Dades Valley > Todra Gorge > Erfoud > Merzouga Desert.
Itinerary to Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we begin the second day of your Morocco tour. We start by driving toward the Valley of Todra and its famous gorge, which rises 300 meters above the ground. Take your time to enjoy a peaceful walk beneath the canyons and listen to the soothing sounds of the flowing river.
Next, the Desert itinerary continues toward the southeast of Morocco, passing through Berber villages and fields of Acacia trees. Before reaching the final destination, you can opt to stop in Erfoud, the fossil tawn of Morocco, where you will visit a local fossil workshop.
Then, we drive toward the stunning Merzouga Desert dunes. Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a guided camel trekking excursion to witness the breathtaking sunset from atop the dunes. Finally, after the sunset, we continue to your luxury desert camp for the night. Each tent in the camp is fully equipped with a hot shower, private toilet, bed, and air-conditioning to ensure a comfortable and unforgettable stay in the Desert.
3rd Day: Merzouga Desert > Rissani > Draa Valley > Ouarzazate > Marrakech.
Morocco Itinerary to MArrakech
Morning Departure: On the third day of your 3-day, 2-night Desert tour from Marrakech, you may choose to wake up early to catch an amazing sunrise before enjoying breakfast.
The day begins with a drive from Merzouga toward Rissani, the ancient economic capital of caravans. Here, we will stop for a special visit to one of its bustling spice markets. Next, we continue to Alnif, before reaching the breathtaking Draa Palm Grove, a valley filled with thousands of palm trees. Along the way, we’ll stop for lunch at a panoramic restaurant where you can take in the spectacular views.
After lunch, once everyone is ready, we will cross the Ait Saouen Mountains and make a stop in Ouarzazate. Upon arrival, you will visit the iconic Taourirt Kasbah and the famous Cinema Studios.
Then, we continue our journey, crossing the Atlas Mountains on our way back to Marrakech. Finally, once we arrive, your driver will take you to your accommodation, bringing your incredible Desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga to a perfect end.

Amazing small group 4-day trip from Fes to Marrakech
Our small group had a great experience on a 4-day, 3-night trip from Fes to Marrakech. Omar was an amazing guide who spoke great English and was great at telling us about the areas we visited. He was very accommodating to any pace or sights that his guests wanted to see. The Desert adventure was so fun, and I enjoyed it all. I also loved the camp because it has AC and hot showers.

The next day, the excursion around the Sahara improved when we joined Said and Ibrahim for the excursion.
