Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Middle Atlas – Merzouga Desert. (8 hours drive)

At 8:00 AM, your driver from Day Desert Tours will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the journey to Merzouga. To begin with, you’ll travel to Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” renowned for its charming alpine-style architecture.
Next, the tour continues through the Middle Atlas Mountains, to stop at the Azrou Cedar Forest to spot the playful Barbary apes. Afterward, you’ll head to the stunning Palm Grove of Ziz, where you can soak in the breathtaking scenery of this lush oasis.
Following that, depending on the time, you might visit a fossil workshop in Erfoud, a town famous for its fossilized treasures. The adventure then continues toward the enchanting Merzouga Desert.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert excursion(Minimal drive)

Next, follow the famous Rally Dakar off-road to the picturesque Tissardmin Oasis. There, you’ll visit ancient fossil quarries and uncover the region’s rich geological history. Afterward, the itinerary takes us to a nomadic family, offering a unique glimpse into their lifestyle. Capture unforgettable photos and cherish this authentic cultural experience.
Following that, head to the vibrant Khamlia village, renowned for its soulful Gnawa music. Here, enjoy a live performance of traditional songs and dances, accompanied by a refreshing glass of mint tea.
After lunch, return to your accommodation to prepare for a magical camel trekking excursion. Once ready, your experienced camel guide will lead you to the top of the dunes, where you’ll witness a breathtaking sunset over the Sahara.
