Your 4-day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga Desert offers an incredible opportunity to explore Morocco’s landscapes. Throughout these 4 days, continue across the Atlas Mountains, reaching heights of 2,600 meters. After a 3-hour drive, we land at the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, the Morocco itinerary continues towards the picturesque Rose Valley and Dades Valley. On the second day of your Morocco tour, we’ll head towards the breathtaking Todra Gorge. Along the way, we approach the geological town of Erfoud on the way to Merzouga dunes. At the arrival time, you’ll enjoy a guided camel excursion. Followed by a fantastic night in a luxury desert camp. After the desert experience, the 4-day desert trip continues across the scenic Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. Before the 4-day, 3-night tour of Merzouga ends, we drive to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. In the afternoon, we arrive in Marrakech with the conclusion of your 4-day Morocco tour.-
4 Days Morocco Desert Tour itinerary
1st Day: Marrakech > High Atlas > Ait Benhaddou > Rose Valley > Dades Valley.
At 8:00 am, Your 4-day Merzouga Desert Tour begins in your accommodation in Marrakech towards the Atlas Mountains. A mountainous connection between Marrakech and the southeast of Morocco. Along the way, the journey will include several stops to take in the stunning panoramic landscapes.
After a 3-hour drive, we arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (a UNESCO World Heritage site established by Ethami Lglaoui). Upon arrival, you can explore the kasbah with your private driver or a local guide.
After lunch, we continue the itinerary towards the Rose Valley, Also known as the Valley of Thousand Kasbahs. Then, join the Valley of Dades to see the iconic Monkey Toes rock formation before heading to our Moroccan riad. At our arrival, you will check in with dinner and night with free breakfast.
2nd Day: Dades Valley > Todra Gorge > Erfoud > Merzouga Desert.
Morocco Itinerary to Merzouga
Breakfast and early departure: On the second day, we travel further on our 4-day itinerary to Merzouga desert. Firstly, we drive forward in the Valley to visit the panoramic Dades Gorge. Then, head to Tinghir, where you’ll visit the stunning Gorge of Todra. A canyon rises 300 meters high and is a tourist destination every year. After lunch, we head towards the South of Morocco, passing by a couple of Berber Village. When we arrive at the geological town of Erfoud, we might stop for a while to visit a fossil workshop. After 45 minutes, we finally approach the golden Desert dunes of Merzouga. Here, you will be greeted by your camel man, and go on a guided sunset camel trek. Later, you ride camels to your luxury desert camp in the middle of the dunes. An evening surrounded by the dunes, complete with stargazing. Dinner will be served in the camp restaurant or outdoors under the stars, depending on the weather. Each tent in the camp is fully equipped with air-conditioning, hot showers, and a private toilet, ensuring a comfortable and unforgettable stay.
3rd Day: Merzouga Desert > Rissani > Draa Valley > Ouarzazate.
Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the heart of the desert dunes. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departure. We then leave the desert behind, heading to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. A lively trading hub especially on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
As we drive further in our Desert itinerary, we cross the scenic fields of Acacia trees with camel and sheep herders. Take a short stop at Alnif, then continue towards Tazarrine and Nkob for the lunch break.
After lunch, our trip heads toward the Valley of the Draa, the longest river in Morocco. An opportunity to take some panoramic photos as we continue across the Ait Saouen hills. Not far, we arrive at Ouarzazate, the Hollywood of Africa with the biggest cinema studio in Africa. A check-in for a night in a charming hotel.
4th Day: Ouarzazate > High Atlas mountains > Marrakech.
On the last day of our 4-day Marrakech desert trip, we leave Ouarzazate. In order to visit the cinema studio before heading towards the High Atas mountains with an altitude of 2600 meters.
On the road to Marrakech, we stop at a workshop to observe the traditional process of making handmade Argan oil. This unique experience will allow you to learn about the significance of Argan oil in Moroccan culture.
Upon arrival at Marrakech, your driver will drop you off at your pointed local in the city. Finally, your Morocco 4-day desert tour finishes in Marrakech.

Amazing small group 4-day trip from Fes to Marrakech
Our small group had a great experience on a 4-day, 3-night trip from Fes to Marrakech. Omar was an amazing guide who spoke great English and was great at telling us about the areas we visited.
