1ˢᵗ Day: Arrive in Casablanca – Rabat (1.5 hours drive, 90 km)

We begin our 11 Days Morocco Desert tour in Casablanca with a visit to the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques open to non-Muslims. Afterward, we drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where we explore the Oudayas Kasbah, Hassan Tower, and the Royal Mausoleum. In the evening, we check into a charming riad for an overnight stay.

2ⁿᵈ Day: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez (4 hours drive, 250 km)

After breakfast, we head to Meknes, a historic imperial city. We visit landmarks like Bab Mansour Gate and the Swani Granaries. Next, we stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved mosaics. By evening, we arrive in Fez and settle into our riad in the Medina.

3ʳᵈ Day: Guided City Tour of Fez

We spend the day discovering Fez with a local guide. Our tour includes the Royal Palace gate, Al-Karaouine University (the world’s oldest university), and the bustling Chaouara Tanneries. We also explore the historic Mellah and the vibrant souks. After visiting the South Tower for panoramic views, we return to our riad.

4ᵗʰ Day: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Merzouga (7 hours drive, 470 km)

Today, we journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and the cedar forest near Azrou, where we may spot Barbary monkeys. We continue through the scenic Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga. In the evening, we relax at a desert lodge near the dunes.

5ᵗʰ Day: Sahara Desert Tour and Camel Ride

Our day begins with a visit to a nomadic family to learn about their unique lifestyle. Next, we explore the Gnaoua village of Khamlia, where we enjoy traditional music. In the afternoon, we take a camel ride to witness a stunning desert sunset. We stay overnight in a luxury desert camp under the starry sky.

6ᵗʰ Day: Merzouga – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley – Skoura (6 hours drive, 300 km)

After an early sunrise over the dunes, we leave Merzouga and visit the dramatic Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs create a breathtaking canyon. We continue through Tinghir and the lush Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations, before reaching Skoura, where we stay overnight.

7ᵗʰ Day: Skoura – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Essaouira (7 hours drive, 360 km)

We travel through the Skoura palm groves and visit the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a backdrop for many films. After crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we drive to the coastal city of Essaouira. We spend the night in a riad near the medina.

8ᵗʰ Day: Explore Essaouira

We spend the day exploring Essaouira’s charming medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We visit the port, Skala de la Ville, and local artisan workshops. The city is famous for its vibrant art scene and fresh seafood, which we enjoy for lunch. The evening is free to relax or stroll along the beach.

9ᵗʰ Day: Essaouira – Marrakech (3 hours drive, 190 km)

After breakfast, we drive to Marrakech, stopping along the way to admire the countryside. Upon arrival, we check into our riad in the medina. The evening is free to explore Jamaa El Fna Square or relax at the riad.

10ᵗʰ Day: Guided Tour of Marrakech

A local guide helps us uncover Marrakech’s treasures. We visit the Koutoubia Mosque, Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and the colorful Majorelle Garden. In the medina, we stroll through the lively souks and admire local crafts. We end the day with a memorable exploration of Jamaa El Fna Square.

11ᵗʰ Day: Marrakech – Casablanca Airport (3 hours drive, 220 km)

On the final day of our 11 Days, 10 Nights Private Morocco Desert Trip, we drive back to Casablanca. A transfer to the airport concludes our incredible journey across Morocco.
