Morocco Itinerary: Casablanca Desert Tour
Day 1: Casablanca – Rabat – Chefchaouen
To begin with, we’ll depart from your accommodation in Casablanca at 8:00 am. The trip starts with a visit to the famous Hassan II Mosque. Then, we will drive to Rabat, Morocco’s capital. We’ll explore the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, Hassan Tower, and Oudaya Kasbah. Afterward, we’ll drive to Chefchaouen, the blue pearl of Morocco, and check into our accommodation.
Day 2: Chefchaouen City Tour – Fes
After breakfast, we will embark on a city tour of Chefchaouen. Wander through its blue and white alleys and visit the Utta Hammam square. Then, we’ll have lunch and drive to Fes, passing through the Rif Mountains. Upon arrival in Fes, we’ll check into our riad for the night.
Day 3: Fes City Tour
On day 3, we’ll explore Fes with a guided city tour. Our journey starts with a walk through the old Medina, one of the largest in the world. Then, we’ll visit the Karaouyine Mosque, the world’s first university. Afterward, we will explore the Maderssa of Bounania, the Tanneries, and the Artisan Quarters. In the evening, we return to our riad for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou Cedar Forest – Merzouga Desert
Following breakfast, we will head to Ifrane, also known as “Morocco’s Switzerland.” Then, we’ll visit the Azrou Cedar Forest, where we can see Barbary Apes. Afterward, we’ll cross the Middle Atlas Mountains on our way to Merzouga. Upon arrival, we will begin our camel trek to witness a stunning desert sunset. The journey ends at our luxury desert camp for the night, with all modern amenities.
Day 5: Merzouga Desert – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
We’ll wake up early to witness a beautiful desert sunrise. After breakfast, we’ll head to Erfoud, known for its fossils. Then, we’ll visit Todra Gorge, a magnificent canyon with 300-meter-high cliffs. Following that, we’ll continue to Dades Valley, famous for its “Monkey Toes” rock formations. Our day ends with a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 6: Dades Gorge – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech
After breakfast, we’ll drive through the Rose Valley, known for its stunning Kasbahs. Then, we’ll visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Cinema Studio in Ouarzazate. Following that, we’ll head to Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. After lunch, we’ll drive through the High Atlas Mountains and reach Marrakech. We’ll spend the night in a traditional riad.
Day 7: Marrakech City Tour
The seventh day will be dedicated to exploring Marrakech. We’ll visit the Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, and the Saadian Tombs. Then, we’ll stroll through the Jamaa El Fna square and the traditional souks. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Majorelle Garden and Menara Garden. Afterward, we’ll return to our riad for the night.
Day 8: Marrakech – Casablanca
Finally, on the eighth day, we’ll drive back to Casablanca, concluding our 8-day Morocco desert trip. This memorable journey offers an unforgettable glimpse into the heart of Morocco.

Amazing small group 4-day trip from Fes to Marrakech
Our small group had a great experience on a 4-day, 3-night trip from Fes to Marrakech. Omar was an amazing guide who spoke great English and was great at telling us about the areas we visited. He was very accommodating to any pace or sights that his guests wanted to see. The Desert adventure was so fun, and I enjoyed it all. I also loved the camp because it has AC and hot showers.

We started our tour from Fes to Sahara desert dunes, spending the first night in a lovely Riad in Merzouga. The next day, the excursion around the Sahara improved when we joined Said and Ibrahim for the excursion. Said was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making every stop along the journey so much more enjoyable.
