Embark on an unforgettable 6-day desert tour through Morocco, starting from Tanger and culminating in Marrakech. This Morocco Desert Tour takes you on a scenic journey through Morocco’s diverse landscapes, including the stunning Rif Mountains, ancient Roman ruins, and the Sahara Desert. Along the way, you’ll explore imperial cities like Fes and Meknes, while experiencing the culture and beauty of Morocco.

Day 1: Tanger to Chefchaouen

Your adventure begins in Tanger, where you’ll meet your guide and head toward Chefchaouen. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the Rif Mountains. Once you reach Chefchaouen, explore the Blue City at your own pace and stay in a traditional riad in the heart of the Medina.

Day 2: Chefchaouen – Volubilis (Roman Ruins) – Meknes – Fes

After a traditional breakfast, leave Chefchaouen and continue your journey. Travel through the Rif Mountains and lush green fields before arriving at Volubilis. This ancient Roman site, once the capital of the Kingdom of Mauretania, is partially excavated and offers fascinating ruins to explore. Afterward, head to Meknes, one of Morocco’s imperial cities, where you’ll have lunch and tour the main sites. Later, continue to Fes, the first imperial city, and enjoy an overnight stay in the historic Fes Medina.

Day 3: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Medalt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Start your day with breakfast before embarking on a scenic journey towards the Sahara Desert. Your route takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing by Ifrane, known as “Moroccan Switzerland” for its European-style buildings. Continue to the Cedar Forest, home to native Barbary apes, and enjoy a peaceful stroll. Then, stop in Medalt, famous for its apples, before traveling onward through the Ziz Valley, with its stunning palm groves. Finally, arrive in Merzouga and prepare for your desert adventure.

Day 4: Merzouga – Taouz – Ramlia – Tafraout (Adventure Day)

Experience the magic of the Sahara at sunrise, capturing breathtaking moments. Afterward, enjoy a traditional breakfast and prepare for an exciting day ahead. Embark on an 8-hour adventure toward Tafraout village, passing through historic military areas from the French colonial era. Along the way, observe the nomadic life as you stop in remote villages and learn about the daily routines of the families. Your journey continues across dry land, offering a true Moroccan adventure. You’ll enjoy a traditional lunch and explore the stunning landscapes before reaching Tafraout for an overnight stay near the farms.

Day 5: Tafraout – Alnif – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

After breakfast, take time to explore the farms and learn about the agricultural practices in this region. Continue your journey through the valley, enjoying views of lush fields and the people who cultivate them. Make a stop at Todra Gorges, where you’ll have a picnic surrounded by towering cliffs. Afterward, head to Dades Valley, where you’ll stay overnight at a hotel with magnificent views of the valley.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

On the final day of your tour, travel off-road through the Dades Valley and Roses Valley. Along the way, meet local nomads, some of whom still live in caves and tents. Stop at El-Kelaa M’Gouna, where 4000 tonnes of rose petals are harvested each spring for rosewater and perfume production. Continue to Skoura, surrounded by palm groves and renowned for its beautiful Kasbahs. Next, visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most famous Kasbah in Morocco. Afterward, cross the Tizi n Tichka pass to reach Marrakech, where your 6-day Tanger Marrakech desert tour concludes with a farewell.
